BUSINESS CLIMATE RESILIENCE PROJECT OPENING MEETING

The Business Climate Resilience Project Opening Meeting held online on 12 October 2021 brought the stakeholders together to emphasize that multi-actor and multi-disciplinary joint reflection and action were needed to build socio-economic sustainability against disaster risks that would increase with the climate crisis, and it was critical that umbrella organizations and sectoral institutions in the business world and public agencies keep in close contact with regard to disaster management. The scope of the Business Climate Resilience Project was shared and its joint needs and areas of action were assessed in the meeting.

In the meeting attended by public sector agencies, the private sector, non-governmental organizations, local governments and academia, Business for Goals (B4G) Platform President Şükrü Ünlütürk delivered the opening remarks, followed by a presentation on the climate crisis and its impacts by B4G Executive Board Member Ozan Diren. On behalf of the Connecting Business Initiative (CBi) which is a financial supporter of the project, Kareem Elbayar provided information regarding CBi and its operations. The general coordination and moderation of the opening meeting were handled by one of the project consultants, Assc. Prof. Dr. Murad Tiryakioğlu.
